After silence, that which comes closest to expressing the inexpressible is music.
-Aldous HuxleyWe had a house concert at the Humby’s tonight, and I was a reluctant participant at first, but I heard some pretty beautiful stuff and my soul feels a little better.

Top 100 movies of all time (according to some people who claim to know some stuff about movies i guess)
SO
since it’s christmas and winter and I’m spending all my spare hours making christmas presents, I decided to work my way down the AFI’s top 100 movies of all-time.
If I’m gonna watch a movie, I may as well watch one of the greatest movies EVER,
right?
RIGHT?
Anyways, I’ve now seen 31/100.
How many have you seen?
RACE ME.

Look At This Awesome Dog of the Day: Harper, an 11-week-old pit bull born with a debilitating disorder commonly known as “swimmer puppy disorder,” was found in a trash bag and brought to a shelter to be euthanized.
Dogs with pectus excavatum can’t walk and aren’t expected to survive, but Harper was lucky enough to find shelter regular Erica Daniel, who took the puppy home and, with a little TLC, slowly helped Harper learn to stand on her own four paws.
Daniel admits falling in love with Harper was not what she had in mind — “I’d planned on taking her home that night,” she told NBC’s Today, “letting her sleep in bed with us, and having her humanely euthanized in the morning” — but felt she couldn’t just give up, especially after seeing Harper’s determination to walk around on her own.
“The whole world was against her, but she’s such a fighter,” says Daniel. “She’s a blessing. She’s awesome.”

Last time I was in Calgary, I visited an old Czech lady who spoke broken english. This time, I babysat two Swedish kids. We were there with my dog and my aunt’s dog, both named sam, and the little boy’s name was also sam… Since none of them speak english, it was a confusing evening. I taught them to say help, hi and please. They walked both Sams around the block until they passed out on the couch.
